Catalog Description

 

Solutions to linear systems, matrices and matrix algebra, determinants, n-dimensional real vector spaces and subspaces, bases and dimension, linear mappings, matrices of linear mappings, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, diagonalization. Emphasis is on techniques and computational skills. No credit to students who have completed 410 or 411.

 

Prerequisites

MATH 113 OR PLACEMENT LEVEL 2 OR 3. 
Note: This section will use software Matlab.

Grading

All exams should be done independently; otherwise you will be guilty of plagiarism. A student who is caught cheating will get an F for the course and will be referred to student judiciaries for further action.
Attendance at the scheduled examinations and final is required. There is no provision for absences due to vacations, family outings and other social activities, other special plans and appointments, etc.  Absences due to illness require a medical excuse on Physician's letterhead, signed by the physician, which must be submitted before any alternate arrangements for the exam will be considered.
