Abstract: Public key cryptosystem is a cryptosystem with a pair of keys. One key is used to lock the message. And the other key is used to recover the locked message. The primary benefit of public key cryptography is that it allows people who have no preexisting security arrangement to exchange messages securely.

Multivariate Public Key Cryptosystem is one of the public key cryptosystem based on the nonlinear multivariate polynomial system over the finite field. It's based on a NP-Hard problem: "Solving a randomly chosen nonlinear multivariate polynomial equation over a finite field is difficult."

In this talk, we will see how this kind of system works, what the good side and the bad side of the system are. And we will see several main applications of the multivariate public key cryptography as Cryptosystem and as Signature Scheme.
