Abstract: In this talk we will investigate isometries and strong isometries for convolutional codes. Isometries are weight-preserving isomorphisms between codes, while strong isometries also preserve the degree of the codewords. The question arises whether - just like in block coding theory - isometries and strong isometries are induced by certain monomial transformations. As we will see the answer will be different for these two types of isometries.
