Abstract: 10 cents is equal to 1/10 of a dollar. By squaring both sides of this equation, we obtain: 100 cents is equal to 1/100 of a dollar. This is clearly not true since we all know 100 cents is equal to 1 dollar. There is something wrong with our argument: we have committed a mathematical fallacy. We will discuss some common mathematical fallacies in the talk.
