Dr. Youqiang Wang

Dr. Youqiang Wang is a recipient of this year's College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Alumni Award. Dr. Wang is the Executive Deputy of the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University and a member of the Development Research Center of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. He graduated from Ohio University with a Ph.D. in Mathematics in 1989, and also received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland in 1997. His accomplishments reflect both academic accomplishment and proven leadership. As the Executive Deputy he has a significant influence in training the public servants and senior managers that will implement China’s recent political and economic reforms. He also plays a direct part in their training as a faculty lecturer in the Tsinghua-Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s executive public management program. Through his membership in the Development Research Center, he has significant impact in the development and implementation of public policy.
