Undergraduates in the news
Three of our undergraduates - Justin Henthorn, Elizabeth Nalepa, and Megan Thomas - have been in the news of late.
Justin Henthorn, majoring in mathematics through the Honors Tutorial College and chemistry through the College of Arts and Sciences, won two nationally competitive awards this past year --- a Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship as well as an Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship from NOAA. Elizabeth Nalepa (majoring in mathematics through the Honors Tutorial College and French through the College of Arts and Sciences) won a Hollings Scholarship last year, and is leaving Athens soon to spend the summer working on her internship with NOAA. Finally, Megan Thomas (mathematics major through the Honors Tutorial College with a minor in Spanish through Arts and Sciences) will soon be starting a summer internship with NASA in Cleveland, Ohio.
