Computational Track - Recent Graduates
- Srikanth Madasu (Winter 2008) srikanth.madasu@gmail.com
- I arrived at Ohio Univ in fall 2007, after completing my B.E(BAchelor of Engineering) in CS from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Hyderabad, India. From the day I began to stay in Athens, I fell in love with this beautiful place. I will never forget the beautiful Spring season of Athens. The places which I liked most are the New Baker Center, Stocker, Ping Center, uptown and of course Morton Hall. The classes I found interesting and challenging were Java(Dr Judd), Operating systems(Dr Drews), COmputation Theory and DAA (Dr. Jundong Liu), Linear Algebra (Dinh Huyn), and Numerical Analysis (Dr Shen). But the best part was being a member of Dr. Martin's research group. It was fun working with other graduate, and undergraduate students. I also enjoyed teaching Math113 as TA. I would like to thank Dr. Martin Mohlenkamp, Dr. Premjit Singh, Dr. Shen, Dr. Bob Klein and Chris Bailey - who helped me in many ways during my stay at Ohio Univ.
- Rahul Sharma (Spring 2006), Operations Research Analyst at TransSolutions, rsharma@transsolutions.com.
- I arrived at Ohio University in Fall 2004, after getting my bachelors degree in Information Systems from GGS Indraprastha University,New Delhi, India. I graduated in Spring 2006. Presently I am working as Operations Research Analyst for a company called TransSolutions www.transsolutions.com. They provide decision-support tools to efficiently design and operate transportation facilities. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, the firm has its origins in the Operations Research department of American Airlines. The direction to a career in Operations Research has a lot to do with the courses that I took under my advisor, Dr. Vardges Melkonian. Some of my favorite courses included Math542 Linear and Non Linear Programming, Math543 Mathematical Modeling and Optimization, CS606 Computational Complexity , CS657 Software Modeling, CS556 Software Engineering.I enjoyed my stay as a graduate student in Athens, it is one of the most peaceful places.Another aspect I enjoyed being part of Math Department was being a Teaching Assistant. I taught Math 101, Math 113, Math 115, Math 250. If you would like to know more about my company, you can email me.
- Krishna Leela Vasireddy (Spring 2006), Software Engineer at Thomson West, krishna.vasireddy@yahoo.com
- I arrived at Ohio University in Fall 2004 after getting my BTech(Bachelor of Technology) degree at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology ( MGIT ), India. I graduated in Spring 2006. The classes I found most interesting were Theory of Linear and Non-linear programming (Dr. Melkonian), Numerical Analysis (Dr. Shen), Software Engineering (Dr. Chang Liu), Java and Manufacturing Applications (Dr.Judd), Database Systems I (Dr.Marling). I had an oppurtunity to work with Dr. Martin Mohlenkamp as Research Assistant. It was fun teaching Math 113 and Math 163A. I had great time as a math tutor for AAC. My favorite part of the university was (Mighty) Morton hall, uptown and Ping center. I found Athens to be the most beautiful place. After graduation, I went to work at Thomson West, in Minneapolis, MN as a software engineer. I am now a java Programmer and my main project is KCE. The classes I took about java and databases have been especially useful in my work. If you would like to find out more about my job or company, you can contact me. Apart from the teaching staff, i would like to appreciate administartive staff of Mathematics Department (Chris Bailey, Cris Milligan, Tammy Taylor) who always offered timely help.
- Praburam Rambadran (Summer 2004), Software Design Engineer in Test in the Windows Security group, Microsoft Corp., praburam_rambadran@yahoo.com
- I arrived at Ohio University in Fall 2002 after getting my bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Madras. I graduated in Summer 2004. The classes I found most interesting were Vector Analysis, Differential Equations, Computer Networks and Operating systems. My favorite part of the program was the flexibility that the course work provided with the courses that I could take and the number of courses and the kind of courses I could take every quarter. I would consider without any doubt that my 2 year stay in Athens was one of the best phases of my life, both academically and personally. I took a lot of interesting courses and made a lot of very good friends. My major professor was very understanding about my interests and was willing to work with me about the courses that I wanted to take, which doesn’t happen in a lot of other schools. My teaching experience was really enjoyable. I taught 3 different courses Math 163A, Math 109 and Math 113 during my stay there. Teaching was always fun and I always looked forward to my teaching assignments. After graduation, I went to work at Lifecare Technologies in Tampa, Florida as a Software developer. I am now a Software Design Engineer in Test in the Windows Security group in Microsoft. You can find out more about it at www.microsoft.com.
