Students from all sections of Math 306, not just section 02, are welcome to come to my office hours.

Sections 4.2 and 4.3 of the textbook discuss mathematical induction. On Tuesday, October 11, I distributed a handout about induction.

Classroom Group Work

Chapter 1 of the textbook discusses quantified statements. We did classroom group work drills involving constructing true quantified mathematical statements from a shuffled stack of cards containing sentence fragments.

Chapter 10 of the textbook discusses relations. In section 10.2, we are introduced to three special properties that a relations on a set may or may not have: Reflexivity, Symmetry, and Transitivity. This group work presents eight relations on the set of real numbers, and asks the students to determine which properties each relation has.
