Reading Material

Each week, I released a set of notes containing reading material, reference material (such as definitions and statements of theorems that will be discussed in class), and homework exercises. The set of notes grew, so that as the quarter progresses, a book-like thing emerged. (Spring 2007 Math 330A Notes Version 9.0)

When discussing proof structure or justifying particular steps in proofs, I often referred to the following list of Rules of Inference.

Exams

• Exam 1, given in class on Monday April 16, covered Chapters 1, 2, and 3.
• Exam 2, given in class on Wednesday May 9, covered Chapters 4 and 5.
• Exam 3 was a take-home exam. The questions were the set of exercises for Chapter 7 of the text.
