Description: This is the second quarter of a two-quarter geometry sequence which develops geometry from an axiomatic standpoint. The topics covered this quarter include an axiomatic and analytic approach to transformational geometry, the ruler postulate and properties of circles Software programs and manipulatives will be used to develop these topics.

Prerequisites: Math 330A

Required Textbooks and Materials: Handouts and readings will be distributed via the web at the Blackboard 5 site for this course. Project and progress reports can either be turned via hard-copy or using the web-based worksheets..

Pay a fee of $5 to the Registrar at Chubb Hall for a computer disk and computer printing privileges for the lab in Morton 314. [required]

Evaluation and Grading: The grade for the course will be based on a wide variety of activities. There will be a series of group `progress reports' which will develop the topics developed in the course. Journal entries will be collected approximately once every three weeks and homework will be collected approximately once every three weeks (2 or 3 assignments). There will also be two in-class exams and a final exam.

Homework, progress reports and final reports should be turned in by the end of the class period on the date they are due. The instructor reserves the right to determine whether or not to accept work after the due date and a penalty may be assessed for late assignments.

The tentative dates for the exams are Wednesday, April 28 and Wednesday, June 2; any changes will be announced at least one week prior to the exam. The date for the final exam is Wednesday, June 9 at 8:00 a.m. All students are expected to take the exams on the dates announced in class

Students earning 93% or more of all possible points will receive at least an A, 83% or more of all possible points will receive at least a B, 73% or more at least a C, 63% or more at least a D and less than 60% will receive an F.

Attendance: Attendance for the course is mandatory. Students with five or more unexcused absences will receive an F for the course; missing a lab counts as two absences.

Cheating: The academic dishonesty policy described in the Ohio University Student Code of Conduct will be adhered to in this course.
